Viking Line ferries dock very close to the hostel. If you arrive from Estonia or Sweden, you can consider this.

From the airport you can take either Finnair City Bus (Estimated travel time 35 minutes, 5,20 euros)

Or public transportations buses (3,80 euros):
       415 and 451  : Estimated travel time 50 minutes
       615 with all different letter combinations (N, NK, T, TK):
                              Estimated travel time 35 to 45 minutes 

From Downtown Helsinki 4 and 4T trams come all the way to the corner of hostel building. The best stop to hop on would be at Mannerheimintie in front of Sokos department store building. Estimated travel time 10 min.

(Hint: If you bought a public transportation bus ticket from the airport, it is valid also in the trams 1,5 hours from the stamped time on the ticket. No need to buy a new one for the tram. Otherwise tram ticket from the driver without a right to transfer is 2 euros. So, the best option from the airport to the hostel is bus 615 + tram 4.)
