WELCOME!

We’re
excited to invite you all to the next European Alumni Meeting
in Helsinki, Finland! As we saw how much Cast C 2007 enjoyed
their visit in our capital area last fall, we have the
confidence in promising you a blast of a weekend in the
beginning of May 2008.
Since
there won’t be any cast touring Europe this spring, it gives
us the perfect opportunity to host the EAM in a Nordic area
and offer you something more exotic, a trip that many of you
might have thought you’d like to take one day, but there
hasn’t been a good initiative so far. Well, here’s your
chance of experiencing Helsinki and Finland with local guides
– the Finnish alumni.
We
have booked a nice hostel on an island near downtown Helsinki
for you. Check it out at http://www.eurohostel.fi/main.php.
All rooms are for 2-3 people, so no cramming into tight or
huge dorms. :c) Those who want to spend more than 2 nights in
Helsinki, our group-rates are available for extra days. You
just need to contact Eurohostel and let them know you have
signed up for EAM and would like to make a reservation for
extra night(s) at our group rates.

to get the most out of EAM weekend?
The
actual meeting day will be Saturday May 3rd. The
day is packed with official stuff, speakers, presentations
etc., a dinner together and of course a party at night. For
the days before and after, we’d like to offer you fun extra
activities in Helsinki and surrounding areas.
The
30th of April and 1st of May
are a huge party all around Finland and on those days you can
join other UWP alumni for a traditional Vappu-picnic
in a very lively park area of Helsinki. Prepare yourselves for
a crazy PARTY that is not the least bit dry, if you catch our
drift... ;c)
For
Friday 2nd and Sunday 4th we will have a
variety of alumni
guided tours and activities available for your sign-ups
according to your own schedules and interests. In a
traditional Finnish volunteer spirit, we have a plenty of
alumni ready to be your local (English speaking) guides. Most
of the places or tours won’t cost you a cent, or perhaps a
tram ticket to and from only.
TOURS
WHICH WILL BE ARRANGED
FOR SURE ARE MARKED IN GREEN.
IF YOU WANT TO JOIN ONE OF THE OTHER TOURS,
PLEASE SIGN UP ASAP!
Examples
of the theme’s are: Community involvement, the world’s

skiing, Linnanmäki amusement
park, Seurasaari
historical museum island, pubs and cafés (although this may
not need any guides)... ;c) You can browse the sights and
